Adobe Photoshop & mouse, 1994.
Oddly enough, I did this as a watercolor for a class. Later, I scanned the painting and began redrawing it digitally in Photoshop, mostly with the lasso and gradient tools. The original isn't much larger than this -- back in the days of using a mouse and very little memory, and you had to wait forever for the hard drive to hash things out...
